What is web site hosting?
Just like your own physical belongings, your web site must be "stored" somewhere in order for others to see it. The monthly (or yearly) charge on your bill for web site hosting is that "storage" fee. We charge you one low rate to manage your files and make sure others can always access your site, so you don't have to worry.

What does "domain name registration" mean?
Your web site must have a registered address so others know how to get to it. That address is your domain name, which is typically registered in yearly terms and must be renewed each term.

What is search engine optimization?
We work hard to make sure it's as easy as possible for others to find you on the web. There are many strategies and techniques that can be used to boost your site's "visibility" online, and we are always striving to ensure that your customers can easily find you when they're looking for you.

How does email marketing work?
We'll manage your email database of those you want to reach. We'll also design and send professional newsletters targeting your audience with relevant information they need for -- or, in many cases, ask about -- your business. You have 24-hour access to online statistic reports, too.

Can you host my site that already exists and is currently hosted somewhere else?
Yes. Switching hosts is a common and smooth process that we'll take care of for you 100%. We would just need a little basic information to get started, and then we'll take the rest from there while you relax.

Do I have to have a registered domain or can you do that for me too?
No, you don't need anything to get started. We can work with you to find a fitting domain for your web site if you don't already have one. If you do have one, it's simple to update your nameservers to your new host. And, we can help you with that, too!

What about my email if I switch hosting to you?
That's not a problem. We regularly have businesses switch their hosting to us and we transfer the email account so keep the same email address and never lose anything.

Will my site be off the internet while we switch to you?
No, it's a simple process of changing your name servers. It may sound technical, but it's totally seamless and your visitors won't see anything different.

Are you available if problems occur?
While that is very rare, we've hosted clients' web sites for years without interruption, but sometimes things happen. We've got a team of five, so we are always ready, and we invite you to come see our operation at 260 Marina Dr. anytime.

Can you help me set up an email marketing program?
Yes. We've created hundreds of successful e-newsletters and we can design everything for you or teach you how to do it.

How can I see my web traffic statistics?
All of our hosting packages offer real time web site visitation statistics. We can really tell you who was on your site...last night!

Can I update my web site myself?
Yes. Our sites are thoughtfully designed with that in mind. We have satisfied clients from churches to real estate agencies, from doctor's offices to golf courses. We've taught each of them how to easily update the sites we've designed for them.

What are bandwidth and disk space?
Bandwidth (data transfer) is the amount of data that your site is allowed to send across the web host's server per month. This transfer is typically measured in gigabytes, or GB's. If your web site exceeds its allowed amount of bandwidth, a host may charge for the extra GB's of transfer.
Disk space is the amount of space your web site takes up on the server. Every character in text and every image takes up space and must be stored somewhere on the server. For example, each character (letter, number, etc.) is one byte, and there are one billion bytes in a gigabyte. There are one million bytes in a megabyte.

Will I lose traffic if I switch to you?
No, not necessarily. A wide variety of features determine your web site's popularity. We can analyze that before switching to us, and then we can give you an idea. |
